Booking & logistics.
The mechanics. Dates, contracts, run-of-show, AV, briefings.
How far in advance should I book Mark?
For premium keynotes, six months is comfortable, three months is workable, and shorter timelines are possible if Mark’s schedule permits. As always, book early.
How does the booking process work?
One-page agreement, plain English. Standard turnaround is 48 hours from a verbal yes to a signed contract. We handle bureau commissions in the same document, with no second negotiation later.
How long is a typical keynote?
Standard is 45–60 minutes with an optional Q&A. Mark also offers longer interactive formats, including 90-minute and half-day sessions.
What does Mark need from the AV team?
A confidence monitor, a wireless headset, and a clicker. Slides are supplied in 16:9 and sent about one week before the event.
Will Mark do a pre-event briefing?
Yes: pre-event briefings by video are standard, three to four weeks out, with the host or program owner. For boards and exec teams, we sometimes add a second short call closer to the date.
Topics & customisation.
How the message gets shaped to your audience.
Does Mark customise his keynotes?
Always. The three core keynotes are starting points; the actual talk is customised for your audience. Mark studies your industry trends and business pressures, and tailors his talk to fit into your event program.
Can Mark interview a client leader on stage?
Yes: a 20-minute “fireside” with one of your senior leaders is a strong closing format, especially for offsites. Mark prepares the conversation arc with that leader privately, two weeks ahead.
Does Mark host panels or MC events?
Yes. Mark regularly hosts conferences, panels and roundtables, bringing his renowned warmth, insights and editorial rigour. Available as half-day, full-day or multi-day packages. Includes a combined MC + Panel Host package for events that want both from one speaker. Pricing available on request.
Will Mark name our company or use our materials on stage?
Only with explicit permission, and only in service of the audience. He will, with care, talk about the moment your organisation is experiencing and how it can move forward.
Can audiences walk away with something tangible?
Yes: signed copies of The Story Code for Leaders (2025) (2025), plus a one-page worksheet or a digital workbook. We’re happy to coordinate with your event team to see what works.
Can we bulk-order copies of the book for our event?
Yes: The Story Code for Leaders (2025) (2025) is available for bulk event purchase at a 20% event discount on the RRP of $34.95. We ask for a minimum of three weeks’ notice, and direct delivery to your venue is available.
Travel & insurance.
The boring-but-important details.
Where is Mark based and how does he travel?
Sydney, Australia. Mark travels Australia-wide and internationally. Travel and accommodation are at the client’s cost; full terms are in the speaker kit.
Does Mark have insurance?
Yes: Professional Indemnity and Public Liability cover are held. Certificates of currency are available on request once a booking is confirmed.
Are there any dietary or rider requirements?
Minimal – any catering notes are in the speaker kit.
Fees & agencies.
How fees are structured and how we work with bureaus.
What is Mark’s fee?

Does Mark deliver virtual keynotes or webinars?
Yes, he’s fully equipped for virtual keynotes and webinar presentations.
What are the payment terms?
A 50% booking-confirmation fee is due on signing (14-day terms). The balance is invoiced 7 days prior to the event, with expenses billed at cost.
Do you work with speaker bureaus?
Yes: we work with a number of bureaus and agencies on standard commission terms.
What is included in the fee?
- The keynote, with full customisation for your audience
- Pre-event briefings by video
- A 60-minute meet-and-greet or VIP table after the talk
- Promotional support: quotes, headshots, social posts
- Signed copies of The Story Code for Leaders (2025) and a one-page worksheet for the room
- A post-event debrief with the host or program owner
Unless paid directly by the client, Mark’s travel, accommodation, and ground transport are billed at cost plus a 10 percent administration fee.
